Pastor and Staff
The people of Lord of Life Church called The Rev. Paige G. Evers as Pastor starting December 1, 2003. A native of Washington State, Pastor Evers made her way east to Maryland via Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was ordained on July 7, 2001 at her home congregation in Lakewood, Washington.
Pastor Evers has been married to a Lutheran pastor, The Rev. Eric W. Evers, since August 2000. Her husband serves as associate pastor at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Bel Air, Maryland. Pastors Paige and Eric Evers have a daughter, Sigrid. She worships most often at Lord of Life Church but has been known to make an appearance at Good Shepherd from time to time. Both Pastors Evers are excited to pass on the faith to their little one.
Pastor Evers's ministry passions include proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, the good news that God sent his Son to die on the cross to forgive our sins and raised him from the dead to give us the promise of everlasting life.
Along with preaching and teaching this gospel, Pastor Evers feels called by God to "equip the saints for the work of ministry" and "build up the body of Christ" (Ephesians 4:12).
Everyone in the congregation has an important role to play in living out God's mission. And everyone should have the opportunity to do the work of the Lord in the church and in the world. Pastor Evers wants to help the followers of Jesus discover how God calls each one of them to serve and to experience the joy of serving in the church and in the wider community.
Outside of congregational life, Pastor Evers enjoys reading, cooking, going for walks, exercising, and spending time with friends and family. She feels honored and privileged to serve God and the wonderful people of Lord of Life Church.
Chasity Wiener joined the Lord of Life church family in February 2004 and currently serves as Sunday School Superintendent. She also actively serves as assisting minister during worship, and as editor of the church’s newsletter, The LifeLine. She is also a member of the Evangelism Committee.
Outside of congregational life, Chasity is matriculating a Master’s in Business Administration for non-profit organizations and medical management. In May 2007, she went on hiatus from her career in financial planning to become a full-time mom to her daughter, Haleigh, and became Lord of Life’s first (ever) Office Assistant. The 13 hours that Chasity is in the church office brings much fulfillment and continues to inspire her to become more involved in her church family.
Chasity has been married to her sweetheart, Phil, since October 2002. Chasity, Phil, and Haleigh enjoy spending time together as family on weekends by going to the local farm for homemade ice cream! Chasity also enjoys scrapbooking and reading.
Chasity is in the office on Mondays and Thursdays, from 8AM to 1PM and on Tuesday evenings from 5PM to 8PM. Please contact her by calling (410) 676-8063 during church hours, or via email at office@lordoflifeedgewood.org.
In 1973, Lord of Life was privileged to have the organ music of Jan Hasselbusch echo throughout worship. Her joyous sounds have continued throughout present day worship.
Jan joined Lord of Life as a congregation member in 1975 and has actively served in the following areas of ministry: Church Council, Youth Group Advisor, Women’s Group, Sharing Table, Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, and Sunday School Superintendent. Currently, Jan serves on the Music and Worship Committee, Adult Choir, and a few other committees.
Amidst all her responsibilities (which drew her nearer to the church), little did Jan know that her Lord of Life also was drawing her closer to her soul mate, Randy Hasselbusch. Jan met and married Randy at Lord of Life and they have two daughters, Jenny and Suzy.
Outside of Lord of Life, she continues her ministry in music by teaching seventh grade general music (classical guitar and American Music) and seventh grade chorus at Southampton Middle School. This is Jan’s 32nd year teaching.
Randy Hasselbusch was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and found Lord of Life in 1982 when he was transferred to Baltimore by Gulf Oil Corp. He found Lord of Life because of the church sign posted at Trimble and Magnolia Roads the Sunday after his offer to purchase a home in Joppa had been accepted (talk about a real “sign from God!”).
Since 1985, Randy has led the Adult Choir to produce beautiful sounds glorifying and worshipping God. During his tenure, he has also served as Church Mortgage Treasurer, Council Member, Worship and Music Chairperson, Worship Assistant, Usher and Cantor. Randy has also served on a variety of church committees, such as the Worship and Music, Evangelism, and Stewardship Committees. He is also “instrumental” in acquiring and maintaining Lord of Life’s organ, keyboard, piano, sound system, and assisted listening system.
He met and married his wife, Jan (who happens to be our organist), at Lord of Life. They have two daughters together, Jenny and Suzy. Outside of church, he enjoys family events, travel, and musical and theater productions.
